For the “Stichting Diabetes Onderzoek Nederland” (the Netherlands Diabetes Research Institute), or DON for short, La Plume Media produces a glossy magazine called DON Magazine.
With a circulation of 35,000, and launched in March 2015, this consumer magazine communicates a serious message in a glossy package. Relying on compelling human-interest stories and striking photographic reports the magazine draws attention to type 1 diabetes. Many renowned photographers, make-up artists, stylists and Dutch celebrities selflessly contribute to the production of the magazine. And all so that the proceeds can be channelled to where they are really needed: fundamental research into finding a cure for diabetes.
